Veneers

Veneers are made of thin and durable shells of porcelain that beautify your smile.

There are varying reasons for why a patient would choose porcelain veneers to improve their smile.

At Flash Dental in The Heights, we offer numerous ways to improve and beautify your smile. One of the most common ways is to use porcelain veneers. There are varying reasons for why a patient would choose porcelain veneers to improve their smile. Some of the more common reasons are to cover the discoloration of their teeth, chips, and even crooked or gapped teeth. These veneers are made of thin and durable shells of porcelain. After a patient’s teeth have been prepared by our dentist, these shells are bonded to the front of the teeth. Along with providing patients with a much improved and more elegant smile, teeth are also able to maintain their natural structure.

The Dental Process for Porcelain Veneers

Before placing the porcelain shells onto the teeth, the existing enamel must first be removed. This requires the use of local anesthesia. Once the enamel has been removed, the dentist will take an impression of your teeth and the impression will be sent to our lab. This impression is to ensure that the porcelain veneers will fit perfectly on your teeth. Before leaving the Flash Dental office, we will provide temporary veneers for your teeth. When your veneers are ready, we will schedule your follow-up appointment. During this appointment, the dentist will again apply anesthesia before removing the temporary veneers and placing your permanent set. Before placing them, however, the dentist will check to make sure they are a perfect match, are functional with typical oral function, and are the right shade. Once these steps are taken, you will have a brand new beautiful smile.

Protecting Your Veneers

As with your original teeth, daily maintenance is necessary. Be sure to continue brushing and flossing daily and coming to Flash Dental for your regular checkups. Your oral care is very important to us and maintaining great oral health will help ensure your veneers last as long as possible. Also, a night guard may be recommended to better protect your veneers, especially if you clench or grind your teeth while sleeping.
